Importing CVT & SEQ files into Surveycraft.

With Dimensions it is possible to convert Dimensions data into a surveycraft format. To do this you need some DLLS installed on your machine and an mrs script. Once run , the script products a CVT ( metadata ) and SEQ ( data ) file. To Get these into surveycraft you need to do the following.

Copy the <filename>.cvt & <Filename>.seq into your Surveycraft data directory (the filenames should be less than 8 characters).

1. Create a new job in Surveycraft.

2. Edit the Questionnaire specifications in Surveycraft.

3. Press Control T to open the text importing screen.

4. Press F3 to select the cvt file & change the suffix to cvt.

5. Arrow to the file you saved from the Dimensions export and press enter.

6. Press Enter on Import and the file will import.

7. Save the file and validate.

8. You may get a warning message saying that some of the script is too long.

9. Just increase the setting L76 in the Job Control File (not the default control file).

10. Save the Job control file and re-validate.

11. Initialise the data file to more than the largest ident number.

12. Import the seq file as normal, pressing enter (blank for same) on the Corresponding questions input line.
